Cue for Canvas shows your Canvas deadlines in the Mac menu bar.

The short version

• No accounts and no servers. Your Canvas data stays on your Mac.
• The only thing ever sent to us is anonymous usage, and you can turn that off.

What stays on your Mac

• Your Calendar Feed link and API token are stored in the macOS Keychain.
• Your assignments, courses, personal tasks, and settings are stored in the app's private folder on your Mac.
• The app connects directly to your school's Canvas, and to course websites if you add them. Nothing passes through us.

What is collected

• If "Share anonymous usage" is on (Settings → General), the app sends anonymous events through TelemetryDeck, like "panel opened" or "marked an item done".
• These never include assignment titles, course names, links, tokens, or anything you type.
• They aren't linked to your identity, and aren't used for tracking or ads.
• They help decide which features to improve. Turn it off anytime and nothing more is sent.

Who else sees it

• TelemetryDeck receives the anonymous usage events and nothing else. It is a privacy-focused analytics service that anonymizes data before storing it and doesn't sell or share it.
• TelemetryDeck processes these events under its own privacy policy (telemetrydeck.com/privacy), which protects them at least as well as this one.
• No other company receives anything from the app. There are no ads and no tracking.

Notifications

• Reminders are scheduled by macOS on your Mac. Their text never leaves your device.

How long data is kept

• Data on your Mac stays until you reset the app or delete it.
• Anonymous usage events are kept by TelemetryDeck for a limited time under its retention policy, then deleted. They can't be traced back to you, so they can't be looked up or exported per person.

Your choices and deleting your data

• Turn off "Share anonymous usage" in Settings → General to withdraw consent. Nothing more is sent after that.
• Settings → General → Reset erases your feed link, token, tasks, and settings from your Mac.
• Deleting the app removes everything else.

Students

• Cue for Canvas is made for college students and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
